Experience the power, poetry, and passion of Chopin like never before at Celebrating Chopin—a national competition bringing together the finest young pianists from across Australia. Each performer presents a carefully crafted Chopin program, showcasing brilliance, individuality, and deep musical interpretation, all in pursuit of the $5,000 top prize.
Held in honour of Margaret Schofield OAM, this prestigious event celebrates not only extraordinary talent, but also a legacy of artistic excellence and dedication to the piano. Celebrating Chopin is where rising stars are revealed, careers are launched, and Chopin’s music comes vividly to life on stage.
This event takes place on Wadawurrung Country. Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute acknowledges the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the first inhabitants and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we work, learn and create. Always Was, Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land.
