War of Hearts

What began as a holiday in France in 2019, has inspired an epic World War I tale of secrets and forbidden love. After stumbling on a story about a spy network, know as La Dame Blance, historical fiction writer, Tania Farrelly spent two years poring over information about the civilian intelligentsia, which would eventrually go on to be run by the British military. The story led the author to a war museum with an exhibit of trinkets found abandoned in the mud of the Somme. Each item was likely very precious to someone and had its own story of love and loss to tell, I thought: “What if one of these long-lost trinkets held the clue to solving a mystery?” Farrelly said. Eventually, her research and wonderment formed the storyline of War of Hearts.
