The Australian Wiccan  Conference: Weaving Magic Together

The AWC has run annually since 1984 for witches, occultists and pagans of all paths.

It is a significant not-for-profit event for those involved in Wicca and Paganism in Australia, fostering a sense of community, education, and spiritual exploration. It provides a space to learn, connect, and deepen one’s understanding of these traditions.

The conference is traditionally held on the weekend closest to the Spring Equinox, with workshops, classes, lectures, entertainment and socialising.

AWC events are held in different locations around the country each year, with different hosts and themes. The 2026 theme is “Weaving Magic Together”, with the event trialing a new, one-day format.

Key Features of the Conference:

  • Workshops and Presentations: The conference typically offers a range of workshops, lectures, and presentations.
  • Networking and Community Building: It’s an opportunity for individuals involved in these spiritual practices to meet others, form connections, and share experiences. It is also an opportunity for seekers to meet coven leaders as the event is well attended by initiates.
  • Large Scale Ritual: The highlight of the weekend is the Spring Equinox ritual. These rituals are some of the largest group rituals most attendees experience.
  • Entertainment: The AWC often has at least one night of live music and or entertainment.
  • Guest Speakers: The conference sometimes hosts well-known speakers, authors, and practitioners from the Wiccan and Pagan communities who provide insight into various aspects of these traditions.
  • Vendors and Marketplaces: Attendees often have the chance to purchase books, tools, crystals, and other items related to their spiritual practices from various vendors and artisans.

The Australian Wiccan Conference (AWC) is not exclusively for Wiccans and never has been in its 40+ year history. It is open to people from various Pagan, witchcraft, magical and spiritual traditions.

The conference is inclusive of anyone with an interest in these paths. It’s a space for those who are curious about, or already practice, these spiritual traditions and techniques, to learn, network, and explore common interests.

So, while Wiccans may have started it, and Wicca is in its name, all are welcome.
