The Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute, established in 1859 is an independently run, not for profit organisation that supports a Library (funded by Library Membership) a heritage books and archive collection and event spaces for hire. The cost associated with being a part of the market excludes GST (approximate size of a trestle table). A 10% discount will be offered to Ballarat residents with a 20% discount to BMI Members. Membership enquiries @ ballaratmi.org.au | Other hirings will not be offered at the discount i.e. tables, power etc. The inaugural Maker & Community Market (13 March 2021) was hosted with a view to explore hosting a regular market to support makers & retailers, to activate our event spaces and provide local and visiting communities access to this historic venue.
