This talk will outline the impact of the goldrush and forestry on the corridor’s native vegetation and waterways. Featuring the long gone Bunny Railway, mining water races, mining infrastructure, forestry and rifle ranges. And focussing on the changing face of the landscape and community values as a result of human activity up to and including the establishment of Woowookarung Regional Park.

Speaker: Jeff Rootes

Jeff Rootes

Jeff is one of the original convenors of the Friends of Canadian Corridor formed when the large Canadian Forest Blue Gum plantation was removed and the land handed back to the State Government for sale. This led to the establishment of the Woowookarung Regional Park in 2016 and its ongoing development.
