Filmed in Australia, USA, France, Germany and Japan, this documentary examines the contemporary culture rooted in Mad Max (1979) and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) both of which became instant international cult films during the 1980s with their dystopian and post-apocalyptic themes and imagery. The film explores the eccentric world of the fans from around the globe, their costumes, and their machines. From the largest international Mad Max gathering in the USA, Wasteland Weekend, to Japan’s Mad Max conventions and Australia’s own The Search for Max event in Clunes, the film marks 40 years of Mad Max as a global phenomenon. The world premier was at the Coburg Village Drive-In in February 2021. Umbrella Entertainment describes the film not only as a film that ‘celebrates life, but also the ability to change oneself through passion’. Source: Umbrella Entertainment.
