Significance Assessment of the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute Collection

The Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute has been selected to receive a Community Heritage Grant to the value of $5,500 (excluding GST) for the Significance Assessment of the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute Collection.

Community Heritage Grants is an Australian Government partnership between the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts and four national collecting institutions: National Archives of Australia, National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, National Museum of Australia and the National Library of Australia (who manages the program on behalf of all partners). Since 1994, the program has been supporting thousands of Australian community-based organisations to care for and build access to nationally significant heritage collections.

The 2023 Round attracted a strong field, with 114 applications received and 59 organisations being offered grant funding.

On behalf of all CHG program partners, congratulations on your successful grant application. National Library of Australia | From the Office of the Director General.
