They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Oh my, what a poignant time in our history
They appear to be Sea Scouts, Mr Senior was the Captain. They met at their boat shed on the lake near the yacht club. Anybody know the year?
Helen Greenwood Arthur David Senior, formerly of Colne in Lancashire, he emigrated to Australia at age 22, and died in 1996 aged 93.
One of the boats belonging to the 12th Ballarat Sea Scouts was named ADS after him.
This picture is before my time, but Ron Harris may know.
Ron Harris, a former Sea Scout, suggests the photo might have been taken around 1944.
That is definitly Ballarata scouts with Skip Senior He ran the Sea Scouts he was still the GL & SL right into the early 80’s I was a CI ear about 1969 to 1972 then cam back afte as CL in late 70’s
Just to clarify my earlier post. I was a Cub Instructor with the Cub section from about 1968 from age 14 to 18 – I left to serve in the RAN and came back as a Leader after my Naval service and marraiage about 1975 and took on the role of Cub Leader and Skip Senior was the Group Leader and Scout Leader. I moved to S.A. in 1981 I am not sure when Skip Senior retired an But I do know that later the Seacout Groups was closed. Many Sea Scouts went through that group and a large number of them joine the RAN mostley due to Skip Seniors influence On visiting him in his home in the mid eighties I found he could name most of them.
A really majestic memorial
Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute He was an Electrical Engineer with the SEC in his work life.
His ashes were scattered at Port Phillip heads I believe.
