Book Sale
We will be hosting a book sale in the Library. These books have been donated to the BMI by members and the Ballarat community to assist in raising funds for Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution.
Prices range from $1 to $10 | Some rare books will also be on sale, these will be priced individually.

On Sunday 18th Maker Market
A Maker Market will happen from 9am – 2pm on the Sunday so there will be something different, make a weekend of it.

Ballarat Imaginarium
Local artist Melinda Muscat (a regular on Market Day) has opened her new shop at the entrance to the BMI. Her stunning shop will also be open on Market Day.
Vintage & Collectables
The Ballarat Mechanics’ Institute’ Vintage shop will be open on Market day. This member lead initiative raises funds to support the BMI Library, Heritage Collection and Arts & Cultural Activities, pop in to say hello to Donna.
Tickety Book Antiques & Collectables
Antiques and Collectables – Malcolm will also be opening his shop on Maket Day.
