Dunromin, for the rest of her days. But now her parents are refusing to put her in charge until she spends a year getting more involved in the local community, and, yes dating. Well. She’ll show them community spirit. She’ll be Miss bloody South Star if that’s what it takes. How hard can it be. Sarah rekindles neglected friendships and throws herself in the dating deep end (recruiting the Bush Telegraph, Mabel Peters, to matchmake for her ) She joins a new women’s rugby team, and even the bristly new cop in town can’t slow Sarah’s race to keep up appearances as the perfect daughter, citizen and girlfriend… ![Book cover](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Love_Match_COVER-196x300.jpg) *Love Match | Clare Fletcher* ***The Eagle in the Mirror* | Jesse Fink** The longest serving spy for the Secret Intelligence Service (M16), Ellis helped set up the Australian Secret Intelligence Service as well as the Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner of the Central Intelligence Agency At one point in the 1940s he was considered one of the top three secret agents in M16 and controlled its activities ‘for half the world’. But in the 1980s espionage writer Chapman Pincher and retired Security Service (M15) intelligence officer Peter Wright posthumously accused Ellis of having operated as a ‘triple agent’ for Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. In 1965, while under interrogation, Ellis has allegedly confessed to supply information to the Nazis before World War 11. His purported betrayal was considered even worse than notorious British traitor Kim Pilby, who defected to the Soviet Union in 1963. *The Eagle in the Mirror | Jessie Fink* **More of Rosemary’s new releases & recommendations.** [September 2023](https://ballaratmi.org.au/library/new-titles-and-recommendations-september-2023/) ## Library events ![BMI Library book sale promotional image with gift-wrapped book](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/square-promo-christmas-26-300x300.jpg) ##### [Book Sale | Reward yourself with some excellent Christmas reading](https://ballaratmi.org.au/event/book-sale-reward-yourself-with-some-excellent-christmas-reading/) December 12 @ 10:00 am - December 13 @ 2:00... ![BMI Library book sale with vinyl records and autumn leaves](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/square-promo-autumn-26-300x300.jpg) ##### [Book Sale | Reward yourself with some excellent Autumn reading](https://ballaratmi.org.au/event/book-sale-reward-yourself-with-some-excellent-autumn-reading/) 01/05/2027 @ 10:00 am - 02/05/2027 @ 2:00 pm Free... ![Ross McMullin author of The Light on the Hill book](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/square-promo-tt-ross-mcmullin-300x300.jpg) ##### [Twilight Talks: Season 2, The Light on the Hill: An Updated History of the Australian Labor Party.](https://ballaratmi.org.au/event/twilight-talks-season-2-the-light-on-the-hill-an-updated-history-of-the-australian-labor-party/) October 28 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm $9 –... ![Kerri Rogan author event promoting Witchy Sister book](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/sp-promo-talks-kerri-rogan-v2-1-300x300.webp) ##### [In Conversation with Kerri Rogan](https://ballaratmi.org.au/event/in-conversation-with-kerri-rogan-november/) November 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $11.00 Humffray... ## Library news ![Monica McInerney author photo with When Sullivan Met Lola book cover](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/libary-bow-monica-mcinerney-when-sullivan-met-lola-240x300.jpg) ##### [Rosemary’s Book of the Week | When Sullivan Met Lola by Monica McInerney](https://ballaratmi.org.au/rosemarys-book-of-the-week-when-sullivan-met-lola-by-monica-mcinerney/) When Sullivan Met Lola Monica McInerney Don’t miss Monica who... ![Michael Robotham Tell Me Something True book cover BMI Library](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/libary-bow-michael-robotham-tell-me-something-true-240x300.jpg) ##### [Rosemary’s Book of the Week | Tell Me Something True by Michael Robotham](https://ballaratmi.org.au/rosemarys-book-of-the-week-tell-me-something-true-by-michael-robotham/) Tell Me Something True Michael Robotham Don’t miss Michael who... ![Sally Mackinnon promotes her fashion book Styled](https://ballaratmi.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/libary-bow-sally-mackinnon-styled-240x300.jpg) ##### [Rosemary’s Book of the Week | Styled by Sally Mackinnon](https://ballaratmi.org.au/rosemarys-book-of-the-week-styled-by-sally-mackinnon/) Styled Sally Mackinnon Don’t miss Sally who will be talking... **Stay informed of our new releases** Subscribe to our Newsletter [subscribe newsletter >](https://ballaratmi.us11.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=dd70ef083716c1e78fa7f77de&id=e81f7ed3c4#) ## Library Back to our Library homepage [Library](https://ballaratmi.org.au/library/) ## Tours The BMI can provide public tours of the building.
