SUMMARY:Ann Cleeves | In Conversation with Jock Serong | Now fully booked
DESCRIPTION:A. J. LyndonI have a long standing interest in history\, particularly the English Civil Wars of the 17th century. In 2014 I started writing a novel about the “War Without an enemy” as it was described by an army commander in 1643. The Welsh Linnet was published in 2017. The sequel\, The Tawny Sash\, will be published on 30 May 2023. My short stories have been published in a number of literary journals and anthologies. Despite being Australian I keep in regular contact with historical experts in the UK who patiently answer questions on every aspect of 17th century life on and off the battlefield. I am married with two children and a very spoiled dog. Reviews of my debut novel The Welsh Linnet “stirring\, accurate accounts of the battles at Edgehill and Roundway Down.” HISTORICAL NOVEL SOCIETY “Captures the essence of the time. The story sweeps you along.” MICHAEL ARNOLD\, AUTHOR OF THE STRYKER CHRONICLES \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n More about the author\n \n \n \n \n									  The Tawny Sash Book 2 in the War Without An Enemy series. Historical novel set in England 1644 during the English Civil War between King Charles I and the English Parliament. Sequel to ‘The Welsh Linnet‘. Welsh gentleman Gabriel Vaughan and his brother-in-law Will Lucie are on the run from the vengeful Sir Henry Lucie and the threat of a court martial. The two cavalry captains must clear their names before Sir Henry’s hired spy can find them. But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

SUMMARY:The Reading Room | 26 July
But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

SUMMARY:Painting with Geoff Roderick | 15 June 22 | Now fully booked
But then Gabriel\, a follower of the outlawed Catholic faith\, becomes embroiled in religious infighting at King Charles I’s most important fortress\, Basing House and when a plot to betray the garrison is hatched\, Gabriel is implicated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cost $10 per person includes gst & light refreshments \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Executive Manager Update – April 2026\n Executive Manager Update – Nev Ivey Since commencing at BMI\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – April 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n What The Bones Know Kirstyn McDermott A child’s bones\, a... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

SUMMARY:Painting with Geoff Roderick | 8 June 22 | Now fully booked
SUMMARY:Ballarat Film Society - Lamb
