SUMMARY:Day Tour of the Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute
DESCRIPTION:Tania is an award-winning advertising strategist who has spent over twenty-five years working in Australia’s leading advertising agencies\, telling stories for the world’s biggest brands. She has more recently built her own successful\, brand consultancy iSPY. She has turned her hand from brand stories to human stories with the help of creative writing courses at RMIT and Fiona McIntosh’s Masterclass. War of Hearts is a heart-stopping novel of love in a time of war. Set against the backdrop of World War One and spanning three continents\, this is a heart-stopping story of forbidden love and courage that explores the nature of faith\, the quest for redemption and the true meaning of grace. Staged in partnership with Collins Booksellers on Lydiard. \n \n War of Hearts What began as a holiday in France in 2019\, has inspired an epic World War I tale of secrets and forbidden love. After stumbling on a story about a spy network\, know as La Dame Blance\, historical fiction writer\, Tania Farrelly spent two years poring over information about the civilian intelligentsia\, which would eventrually go on to be run by the British military. The story led the author to a war museum with an exhibit of trinkets found abandoned in the mud of the Somme. Each item was likely very precious to someone and had its own story of love and loss to tell\, I thought: “What if one of these long-lost trinkets held the clue to solving a mystery?” Farrelly said. Eventually\, her research and wonderment formed the storyline of War of Hearts. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n War of Hearts | Tania Farrelly\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enquiries:  Any event specific enquires should be direct to library@ballaratmi.org.au \n \n \n \n \n \n $10 per person plus booking fee & gst \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Collins Booksellers\, Ballart on Lydiard will be handling book sales for the event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PRE-SALE | Fashion Parade and Afternoon Tea | Vintage & Collectables\n Ticket available for PRE-SALE from 10am Thursday 6 August until... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week – A Murder in Springtime by Martin Walker\n A Murder in Springtime Martin Walker Bruno\, chief of police... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n National Reconciliation Week\n National Reconciliation Week City of Ballarat Ballarat National Reconciliation Week... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – June 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

SUMMARY:Paper bead-making with Faye Heininger | 27 July - Session 2 of 2 | Now fully booked

Staged in partnership with Collins Booksellers on Lydiard. \n \n War of Hearts What began as a holiday in France in 2019\, has inspired an epic World War I tale of secrets and forbidden love. After stumbling on a story about a spy network\, know as La Dame Blance\, historical fiction writer\, Tania Farrelly spent two years poring over information about the civilian intelligentsia\, which would eventrually go on to be run by the British military. The story led the author to a war museum with an exhibit of trinkets found abandoned in the mud of the Somme. Each item was likely very precious to someone and had its own story of love and loss to tell\, I thought: “What if one of these long-lost trinkets held the clue to solving a mystery?” Farrelly said. Eventually\, her research and wonderment formed the storyline of War of Hearts. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n War of Hearts | Tania Farrelly\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enquiries:  Any event specific enquires should be direct to library@ballaratmi.org.au \n \n \n \n \n \n $10 per person plus booking fee & gst \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Collins Booksellers\, Ballart on Lydiard will be handling book sales for the event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PRE-SALE | Fashion Parade and Afternoon Tea | Vintage & Collectables\n Ticket available for PRE-SALE from 10am Thursday 6 August until... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week – A Murder in Springtime by Martin Walker\n A Murder in Springtime Martin Walker Bruno\, chief of police... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n National Reconciliation Week\n National Reconciliation Week City of Ballarat Ballarat National Reconciliation Week... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – June 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

SUMMARY:BMI Fundraiser | The Phantom of the Open

SUMMARY:The Reading Room | 28 June
Staged in partnership with Collins Booksellers on Lydiard. \n \n War of Hearts What began as a holiday in France in 2019\, has inspired an epic World War I tale of secrets and forbidden love. After stumbling on a story about a spy network\, know as La Dame Blance\, historical fiction writer\, Tania Farrelly spent two years poring over information about the civilian intelligentsia\, which would eventrually go on to be run by the British military. The story led the author to a war museum with an exhibit of trinkets found abandoned in the mud of the Somme. Each item was likely very precious to someone and had its own story of love and loss to tell\, I thought: “What if one of these long-lost trinkets held the clue to solving a mystery?” Farrelly said. Eventually\, her research and wonderment formed the storyline of War of Hearts. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n War of Hearts | Tania Farrelly\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enquiries:  Any event specific enquires should be direct to library@ballaratmi.org.au \n \n \n \n \n \n $10 per person plus booking fee & gst \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download flyer\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Collins Booksellers\, Ballart on Lydiard will be handling book sales for the event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Why Not become a member\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This event is a BMI Community Cultural Project – Ballarat’s Oldest Cultural Institution \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PRE-SALE | Fashion Parade and Afternoon Tea | Vintage & Collectables\n Ticket available for PRE-SALE from 10am Thursday 6 August until... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week – A Murder in Springtime by Martin Walker\n A Murder in Springtime Martin Walker Bruno\, chief of police... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n National Reconciliation Week\n National Reconciliation Week City of Ballarat Ballarat National Reconciliation Week... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Newsletter – June 2026\n Rosemary's New Releases and Recommendations | Author Talks - Live... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More
