DESCRIPTION:Professor Barry Golding is speaking on his insights into the changing conservation and care of 6 peaks in Southern Dja Dja Wurrung Country. \n \n Bunanyung Landscape Alliance is proud to present a FREE talk by Prof Barry Golding. A respect for landscape is built into our name. We recognise that landscapes change\, and that our perceptions of landscape are strongly contingent on culture. Professor Barry Golding is undertaking a State Library Victoria Fellowship in 2023. His project involves research and writing a book\, Six Peaks Speak: Unsettling changes in Southern Dja Dja Wurrung Country.Prof Golding’s exploration of Aboriginal\, colonial and scientific responses to landscape in part of the Central Highlands will be of interest to all like-minded people. His presentation is based on emerging insights from his wide-ranging research for the SLV Fellowship\, using ‘unsettling’ as an underpinning theme. His aim is to provide evidence-informed insights into the conservation of mountains in the landscape\, with the broader aim of making informed decisions about their care as important public places. The six peaks of particular interest are today known as mounts Kooroocheang\, Beckworth\, Greenock\, Tarrengower\, Alexander and Franklin.Barry acknowledges the support of the State Library Victoria and Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Who is Barry Golding? SUMMARY:Twilight Talks 2022 | Season 2 | Session 3
SUMMARY:The Reading Room | 30 August
SUMMARY:Day Tour of the Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute
SUMMARY:Day Tour of the Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute
