SUMMARY:Ballarat Film Society - Pig
DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary \n \n \n \n \n \n by Garry Disher \n \n \n \n \n \n Grace is a master thief\, specialising in valuable stamps\, watches and jewellery.  She never stays long in one place\, so when she’s recognised at a Brisbane stamp expo\, she must  go on the run again.  But she’d like a shot at a normal life\, and settles in the Adelaide Hills\, where she uses her  knowledge to work in an antiques business owned by Erin\, her landlady.  But someone’s looking for Erin.  And someone else is looking for Grace.  And they are both very dangerous men. \n \n \n Sanctuary | Garry Disher\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Author \n \n Garry Disher was born in 1949 and grew up on his parents’ farm in South Australia. He gained post graduate degrees from Adelaide and Melbourne Universities. In 1978 he was awarded a creative writing fellowship to Stanford University\, where he wrote his first short story collection. He travelled widely overseas\, before returning to Australia\, where he taught creative writing\, finally becoming a full time writer in 1988. He has written more than 40 titles\, including general and crime fiction\, children’s books\, textbooks\, and books about the craft of writing. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Garry Disher | Photo: Darren James\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Garry will be in-conversation with Tim Constantine \n \n Tim has worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. As well as selling his soul to advertise products that people don’t need and can’t afford\, he has appeared in favourite Australian TV shows\, including Neighbours\, Underbelly\, City Homicide and Stingers. During the pandemic\, Tim played Hamlet in the highly regarded “Shakespeare Republic – The Lockdown Chronicles”\, a webseries which received awards and nominations from festivals all over the world. Tim is passionate about books\, learning and the arts\, and is a keen amateur linguist and historian. He travelled widely overseas\, before returning to Australia\, where he taught creative writing\, finally becoming a full time writer in 1988.
