The people aren’t really honouring their end of the bargain. Besides nothing\, the crushing majority of people don’t know anything. In fact\, most of them are heading in the right direction for a smack. Luke Heggie recently discovered that a slip of the tongue is now more commonly known as “his true colours” and that salted caramel was not just a fad. He’d like for these things to be rectified\, but stopping short of standing in a major intersection waving around a plank with nails sticking out of it\, there is nothing that can be done. This show is not recommended for anyone who was brought up to believe nothing is their fault. Most things are your fault. No lowbreeds please. ‘Utterly extraordinary… A knock-out.’ ★★★★★The Age ★★★★ 1/2 The Advertiser \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About Luke \n \n Comic favourite Luke Heggie is known for his dry deadpan style and the ability to deliver a brand new killer comedy show year after year. He gigs relentlessly 6 or 7 nights a week and tours the biggest comedy and arts festivals in Australia and New Zealand to sell out crowds and rave reviews. Luke also has a fan base in UK by taking his harsh but fair shows about idiots to crowds at London’s Soho Theatre.     Starting out as RAW Comedy winner and going up from there Luke’s accolades include a two-time ARIA Award nominee for Best Comedy Release\, the coveted ‘comic’s choice’ Piece of Wood Award at the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival\, the 2015 Sydney Comedy Festival’s Director’s Choice Award\, and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Most recently\, Heggie was nominated for Most Outstanding Show at 2021 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won Best Show at 2021 Sydney Comedy Festival with the critically acclaimed show LOWBREED.    Luke Heggie’s television appearances include performing live on the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Opening Night Allstars Supershow\, Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Oxfam Gala\, Just for Laughs Stand-Up Series filmed live at the Sydney Opera House for the Comedy Channel\, you would have also seen him on The Project\, ABC’s Question Everything\, ABC’s Comedy Next Gen and Comedy Up Late.  In 2020 Luke started a chart-topping podcast with fellow comedian Nick Cody called Mid-Flight Brawl\, cataloguing the best all time air rage incidents\, generally resulting from any old tiprat being allowed to fly now.   Over the years Luke Heggie has released multiple hour long stand up specials including his 2018’s TIP RAT (Network 10\, TENPLAY & YouTube)\, 2019’s HAVE THAT (Network 10\, TENPLAY & YouTube) and most recently 2022’s I ALREADY TOLD YOU (Paramount +). You can also check out Luke in print with his first book entitled If you must know\, featuring the transcripts of 3 of his most revered shows complete with illustrations by Emilie Protiere.     Through 2022 & 2023 Luke Heggie has written and produced multiple segments for ABC’s The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. Turning fan favourite stand up comedy into bite sized semi-educational comedic skits. Luke has tackled many different hot topics including\, the cost of healthcare\, modern masculinity and the short term rental crisis\, among many other things.  								\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Follow Luke \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enquiries:  Any event specific enquires should be direct to venue@ballaratmi.org.au \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Price: All tickets $30 Doors Open: 7pm \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Get Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n BMI News \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n The Drowning Fiona Lowe Don’t miss Fiona at the BMI... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ballarat National Theatre | Ballarat Times by Evie Lamb\n Lots to dig about The Dog Logs by Evie Lamb\,... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Twilight Talks 2026 | Ballarat Times by Evie Lamb\n BMI’s Twilight Talks Return by Evie Lamb\, Ballarat Times The... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rosemary’s Book of the Week\n Peg Rankin: A Journey of Faith and Resilience Peter Rankin... \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More
