Auguste Escoffier\, the legendary chef from the Savoy \, invented and named the light accompaniment of dry thinly sliced bread after her (Melba Toast) when Melba was ill in 1897. Escoffier also created the Peach Melba\, Melba Sauce and Melba Garniture in her Honour. We would love the evening to reflect the style and glamour of Dame Nellie\, why not dust off the finery in honour of the fashionista icon? \n \n The Menu…Canapes Victorian style  Melba Toast with pâté\, a dry\, crisp\, thinly sliced rusk that became a staple of Melba’s diet when she was ill in 1897.
