23/06/2017 7:30pm - 9:00pm
TWO SHOWS – 7.30pm & 9.30pm
The monster Gods of comedy are back! In the 80s & 90s, they took the comedy world by storm with their infamous live shows and TV appearances. Wilfully provocative, psychologically manipulative and gleefully tasteless – DAAS kicked political correctness out the door and gave it a damned good thrashing outside. In an atmosphere of mob-rule chaos, three men became the rockstars of comedy. Then in 1994 the Doug Anthony All Stars broke up and the world was safe again.
Fast forward to 2013: Paul McDermott & Tim Ferguson teamed up with their mentor Paul ‘Flacco’ Livingston and began to wreak further havoc and hilarity upon a nervous world. But these are not the men they once were; Livingston is “on the spectrum”, Ferguson is wheelchair-bound with MS, and McDermott is his primary carer. (You can imagine). They are older, they are sicker, they are angrier, they are better than ever. After two years of sell-out shows Australia-wide DAAS made their triumphant return to the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and to London’s Soho Theatre, where they played to packed houses and were met with a tsunami of critical acclaim. Now they are coming to the goldfields. Be unnerved, Ballarat, be mildly unnerved. Featuring: sex, violence, music & sex. And their new gimmick – death.
