Annie was a regular visitor to the BMI a couple of months ago, she was doing research whilst utilising Our Collection of Ballarat Punch. She has forwarded this article from October 12, 1867 in the Ballarat Punch.

Annie said, “It describes a trip to the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute and while it is quite tongue in cheek in parts as you would expect from Mr Punch, it has some nice descriptions of the building and reading
material and the general feel for the time.”
