President’s Report March 2018
It was pleasing to see so many BMI members and their friends at the first talks of this year. Dr Joan Hunt has put together a most interesting series of talks and I encourage all members to attend. This year we are having four sets of six talks so that all talks occur during the school term.
We have had a large number of applicants for this position and it is expected that an announcement will be made about the successful applicant in the April Newsletter.
Again I would like to emphasise the importance of generous donations to the Foundation. The aim is to build up a substantial fund that will ensure the long-term viability of the BMI. All donations, large and small, are welcome.
The Marketing Committee members are overseeing the BMI arrangements for Saturday 17 March 2018. Many members have volunteered to assist with events on the evening that will include music in the Humffray Room and the Minerva Space. Following the success of last year, we are expecting many people will visit the Institute during the evening. See later for details of activities. A big ‘thank you’ to all involved in assisting us during White Night.
