President’s Report August 2017

THANK YOU

A very big thank you to Sue McRae who has manned the Library Desk in the absence of Rosemary McInerney who has been on a month’s leave and has travelled overseas. Rosemary started back at the BMI on Monday 24 July. Also we wish to thank Sue Lloyd who completed voluntary work on the Library desk on Mondays and some Saturday mornings.

VISIT OF CITY COUNCILLORS

On 19 July BMI Board members hosted the Ballarat City Councillors and staff for a half hour familiarization tour of the BMI. At the commencement of the tour our patron Dr Frank Hurley addressed those present and outlined the BMI achievements of the last 15 years. Following the tour, the Councillors held their evening meeting in the Humffray Room. The Councillors and their staff members were very impressed with all that the BMI offers.

BMI TOURS

We are now offering Saturday morning tours for curious locals and tourists. Join our passionate volunteers to explore the BMI building and collections. Easy to book either in the library, or online at www.trybooking.com/QVWT Please pass this along to family and friends…
