For the last five or so years, the BMI has always been decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, and that’s all thanks to Fay Marshall.
Fay is one of those creative types who has a gift of throwing a bunch of stems, branches and flowers here and there, and it becomes an artwork.
Rosemary the librarian says she’s a perfectionist. “This is modern art!” She said. “All the colours are very fitting for the institute.”
Fay is just one of the countless volunteers who dedicates her precious time to the BMI. And in this case, it’s by coming in in every week or so to assemble her next creation. She often brings in materials from her garden. Most recently, it was Smoke Bush. Next time you come in, look behind the lending library desk to see another bouquet of flowers. Not that you’re going to miss it!
