Meet the Librarian: Rosemary McInerney

Rosemary McInerney

Rosemary McInerney has been running the library for 24 years! Her interest in the BMI Library began long before she started working here, because her mother would bring her in when she was a child.

She became a member in her own right and the relationship developed into a full time position. She loves the atmosphere, the sense of belonging to a family, the members and the volunteers. She gets a great sense of satisfaction in getting to know the interests of her readers and being able to suggest books to them. Rosemary provides a very personal service.

Her busy days consist of ordering new books, some which have been suggested by members; organising the five book clubs that meet on a regular monthly basis; welcoming visitors to the library and answering their myriad of questions.

There is never a dull day in the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute Library, as there is always an opportunity to chat to someone about the latest book your reading and speak to like-minded people. If you have any questions about signing up to the subscription library, come in and have a chat to Rosemary, or subscribe online by clicking here.
